Job brief
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Home Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to help others and a commitment to providing exceptional care to our clients. As a Home Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and companionship.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with mobility, transferring, and positioning of clients as needed.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary requirements.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and tidying up living spaces.
- Remind clients to take medications as prescribed and assist with medication management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients through friendly conversation and engaging activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and recreational activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate staff members.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with clients and their families.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
